Juicer
2016-2018
Role: Product Designer
I worked with Juicer when it was still under ownership of a super talented friend of mine, Ryan MacInnes, who in recent years has sold the product to SaaS Group. Juicer is an affordable and beautiful social media aggregator for anyone looking to embed a simple social media feed on their site. It also comes with more complex moderation and filtering, to accommodate businesses who needed stricter moderation when pulling in hashtags for their feeds for campaigns.
I helped to expand Juicer’s initial branding across the entire product, and designed the original landing page. I also worked with Ryan over the years to do UI/UX design and user testing as he built out various features of the site: Onboarding, Feed Dashboard, payment and account pages for a variety of different user plans.
Juicer - Landing Page
I worked with Juicer’s original branding (logo and colors) and we began by the project by building and applying it to the landing page. From there, I worked to expand it to the rest of the product as we tackled other pages and integrated new features into the site.
I also designed a series of advertisements for free accounts (which come with ads/Juicer-branded feeds), that helped grow some of Juicer’s branding and marketing materials (and was also just a fun excuse to illustrate a bunch of cute fruits).
Outside of UI-related work, I also worked together with Ryan (Juicer’s sole developer at the time) to test and design a number of the more complicated UX features, including:
Onboarding new users and helping them to embed Juicer’s code onto their site, as well as connect their social media to their Juicer account. This presented a number of different UX problems due to the number of ways that different social media sites deal with permissions.
Account pages for both regular and enterprise users, as well as payment/account management flows for a variety of different user plans which created a number of different scenarios and edge cases.
The UI/UX for the Feed Dashboard sidebar menu, including the interface for the more complex moderation, campaign URM, and feed customization tools.
